Greenfield Lake Park experiencing difficulties with heat

Coastal waters temporarily close to shellfishing

Upon recommendation of the state health director, the NC Division of Marine Fisheries will temporarily close all coastal waters to shellfish harvesting effective immediately, due to potential impacts of floodwaters on these areas.

Jeannette's Pier in Nags Head reopens Saturday

Neighbors want boat ramp hours restricted; boaters disagree

video Tonight, neighbors of a New Hanover County boat ramp and the boaters who use it will discuss limiting the access from 24 hours a day to sunrise to sunset. Some people who make their living on the water say closing the Trails End Boat Ramp after dark would be detrimental.
