The beach is certainly a great treasure in our area. And with that treasure comes plenty of terrific places to eat. Whether it provides a delicious menu and overlooks the ocean, pours a cold drink with a relaxing view of the Intracoastal Waterway or is the ideal spot to stop and get a bite to eat on the island, we want to know what is the BEST RESTAURANT AT THE BEACH along our coast. Here's how the votes are coming in (4 p.m. Thurs.):
22 North, Wrightsville Beach - 38%
The Fish House, Oak Island - 26%
Michael's Seafood, Carolina Beach - 13%

It's time for another rematch in year two of "And the Winner is..." Britt's Donuts in Carolina Beach is known far and wide for their tasty treats and easily won last year's contest. But Britt's is certainly not the only donut shop with a big following in the area. Can any of the others knock off this local legend? A year ago, Something Fishy won a commanding victory for the area's BEST SEAFOOD PLATTER. But a dish like that in an area like ours is surely to have plenty of competition. Believe it or not, it's been a year since we started our weekly "And the Winner is..." contests. That means it's time to start anew and see if past champions can defend their title. Our very first category was BEST PULLED PORK SANDWICH, and the winner was Flip's BBQ in Wilmington. Can Flip's hold on to the coveted title of BEST PULLED PORK SANDWICH in the Cape Fear?
