On Monday we found out former UNCW men's basketball coach Jerry Wainwright is headed a bit closer to home. Wainwright has decided to leave Fresno State. Congratulations are in order for the UNCW surf team. They finished in third place at the national collegiate surfing championship. Cindy Ho's UNCW women's golf team captured first place in the CAA women's golf championship on Sunday. It's the second title in as many years for the Seahawks. Both Seahawk tennis teams came close, but they both fell short in winning a CAA tennis title. The UNCW baseball team is still a few weeks away from tournament play. Wilmington native Josh Brock captured first place on the eGolf Tour on Saturday at St. James Plantation in Brunswick County. It's a $25,000 payday for the New Hanover High graduate and UNCW grad.
