Dr. James Dineen was a sports medicine pioneer. He was inducted into the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. Dineen was buried Friday morning in Wilmington. He was 92. Full story...

Brett Blizzard and Craig Callahan are synonymous with UNCW basketball. Ironically, this week they're having to face each other as opponents in the playoffs in Italy. The Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame as of Sunday has four more members. That makes a grand total of 40. The new class includes the late Bob Boyd, Ricky Benton, Calvin Lane and Alge Crumpler. Full story...

Former NFL tight end Alge Crumpler will be returning to Wilmington this weekend. The New Hanover High graduate heads this year's induction class for the 2014 Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame. On Wednesday we addressed the home scoring drought for the Wilmington Hammerheads. On Wednesday the NCHSSA adopted new guidelines concerning the mercy rule for high school football and basketball. On Sunday, May 4, the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame will welcome the 2014 inductees into membership at their annual banquet at the Burney Center on the campus of UNCW. The Reception and Silent Auction will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the induction ceremony and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The annual golf tournament will be held Saturday, May 3. Full story...
