Friday's Full Court Press featured a ceremony at Hoggard for Trevor Singleton. It's possible the senior may have played his last game in a Hoggard uniform. On Friday night we had loads of high school basketball action from Wilmington. We also had hoops from Burgaw, Leland and Tabor City. We went regional or you could say viral with our play of the week that featured a shattered backboard. Full story...

On Tuesday we had high school basketball highlights from Wilmington, Rocky Point, Leland and Boiling Spring Lakes on our sports segment. NC State, Duke and Cape Fear CC all won in college hoops. Plus more! Full story...

The first Full Court Press of 2014 turned out to be a winner on WWAY. We had coverage from Trask-West Bladen, Pender-East Bladen, North Brunswick-Hoggard, West Brunswick-Cape Fear Academy, Coastal Christian-South Brunswick and Harrells-Topsail. The final Full Court Press of 2013 is in the books. There aren't as many Wilmington teams in the championship contests as some local fans would like, but Ashley has a spot in the girls title game of the Brogden event on Saturday. Hoggard was unable to hold onto the lead in the third round of the high school football state playoffs on Friday. James Kenan knocked Whiteville out of the playoffs. The Tigers will play Wallace-Rose Hill next. Both UNCW basketball teams lost on Friday. The Seahawk men lost at home. The Seahawk women lost in Cancun against former UNCW coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke and the USC Trojans. Full story...
