On Tuesday we had wall to wall coverage of high school sports from around the region. We featured the top boys lacrosse team in Wilmington, Cape Fear Academy, the defending state champion baseball team from Whiteville along with baseball, softball and soccer involving Ashley and New Hanover. On Friday Hoggard pitcher Bryan Sammons pitched an outstanding game against arch-rival New Hanover. We were there to check out the action. On Friday we featured jiu jitsu world champion Hope Aikens of Wilmington. She's about to take her talents to Dubai. The UNCW baseball team lost on Friday. The third round of the high school basketball state playoffs is over. We were in heavy basketball mode on Friday with our final Full Court Press of the season. See what Brett Blizzard and Kevin Schneider had to say about Hoggard's overtime loss. Wednesday turned out to be a fairly dramatic night in our region for second round state playoff action in high school basketball. We showcased six high school games plus the backyard Brunswick-Cape Fear men's college game. On top of that it was senior night at UNCW where Keith Rendleman and Matt Wilson both played their final game at Trask Coliseum. Full story...

Conference championship tournament night is in the books. The New Hanover boys won a tournament title, along with the Laney girls, the East Columbus boys, the East Columbus girls, the Whiteville boys and the Whitevile girls. State playoff action will start on Monday. Full story...

The Hoggard boys basketball team will be in the Mideastern Conference championship game for the fifth year in a row. It'll be the Vikings vs. the New Hanover Wildcats on Friday. In the Waccamaw Conference slowing the game down worked for the West Brunswick boys. They'll be in the finals on Friday. The East Bladen girls knocked off arch-rival West Bladen on Friday. Plus more! Keith Rendleman is now the all-time leading rebounder at UNCW. Rendleman broke Brian Rowsom's record in a setback against Old Dominion.
