It's been a tough month for Hoggard head football coach Scott Braswell in regard to his health, but Braswell will be on the sidelines on Friday night at the BB&T Jamboree. In fact he'll also coach in the regular season opener before heading to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Full story...

Former Hoggard Viking offensive lineman Jonathan Cooper missed his entire rookie season with the Arizona Cardinals after breaking his leg in a preseason game last August. Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians earlier this week said Cooper needs to shake off the rust. Cooper even admitted his level of play is not where it needs to be. The Wilmington Waves 7th grade basketball team captured a national title for travel basketbal in Myrtle Beach. Hoggard football coach Scott Braswell is back in Wilmington. The 2014 baseball season is now over for the Wilmington Sharks. The playoffs will start on Wednesday, but the Sharks won't be included. Full story...

It doesn't look like Jordan Hamilton will suit up for the Wilmington Hammerheads anymore. He's no longer on loan from Toronto FC. He's now a member of Toronto FC. Without Hamilton and a handful of other players the Wilmington Hammerheads FC ended up in a scoreless draw with Arizona United SC on Friday night. Plus more! Full story...

Training camp opens this week for Connor Barth and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The former Hoggard kicker will be the Tampa Bay kicker once again, even though Barth missed all of last season with a torn Achilles. Full story...
