Friday night’s sports segment featured high school baseball state playoff action from West Brunswick. We also checked out the North Brunswick baseball team against North Pitt. We traveled to Ashley to watch the softball team defeat West Johnston 4-2 for the district title. The Hoggard girls soccer team was also in action tonight as they hosted Pinecrest. Full story...

West Bladen's DJ Mason & Hoggard's Tyler Thayer will represent the east in the annual East-West All-Star Basketball Game in July. Thayer and Mason both played for the Wilmington based Flight 22 basketball team last summer. Full story...

Friday marked the first night of the state playoffs for high school baseball and softball. We had our sports cameras out and about. We also had soccer state playoff action. UNCW cliched the CAA regular season baseball title on Friday. It's the first regular season title for Mark Scalf's squad since 2008. The Wilmington Sea Dawgs also won on Friday! We talked to New Hanover girls soccer coach Al Pastore about the end of his great coaching career. We previewed the season opener for the Wilmington Sharks summer league baseball team.
