video On Monday the Fred Lynch Invitational Basketball Tournament tipped off at two locations in New Hanover County. On Monday Wilmington's Cari Blalock had a terrific day in the pool. The former New Hanover Wildcat shaved seven seconds off her personal best in the 400 IM at the US Olympic Swimming Trials.

Middle school debates bring out the big guns on the Battleship

Trask and Holly Shelter Middle Schools have been squaring off in competition this year, checking their notes and making their best presentation. Organizers decided to bring out the big guns and hold the contests at various community locations. Thursday night started on deck at the Battleship until a little relocation was needed.

Student flies high with award winning aerobatic pilot

The Coastal Carolina Air Show is this weekend at the Wilmington International Airport. A Holly Shelter Middle School eighth grader got the chance of a lifetime to fly with one of the show's aerobatic pilots.
