It's the next to last day for our "Two-A-Days". We featured Laney and Whiteville on Wednesday on WWAY. The East Carolina Pirates will be without two wide receivers this season. The high school football season is here. Despite the rain the BB&T Jamboree was played as scheduled at Legion Stadium in Wilmington on Friday night. Check out the first 5th Quarter of 2013. In baseball Wilmington Post 10 won their opening game at the American Legion World Series. Post 10 will face Louisiana on Saturday in a winner's bracket contest. Full story...

NC State's Carlos Rodon tossed a complete game shutout on Sunday against North Carolina at the College World Series. The Wilmington Hammerheads are still celebrating. Wilmington's pro soccer squad defeated the New York Red Bulls reserves on Saturday night. The Fred Lynch Invitational tips off tomorrow. The Fred Lynch Invitational is just days away. The off-season basketball event will feature 45 high school basketball teams over a three day period. South Carolina beat North Carolina in baseball on Sunday. NC State beat Rice. The Wolfpack advances to the College World Series for the first time since 1968. The season ends on the road with a loss for the Wilmington Sea Dawgs. Earlier this weekend the Wilmington Hammerheads earned their first road point of the season. Plus more! Full story...

Wilmington's Derek Brunson won't be fighting in Brazil this weekend after all. Brunson's opponent was involved in a car accident just one day prior to their UFC fight. Justin Livengood is the first local baseball player to be selected in this week's MLB Draft. Livengood recently completed his senior season at UNCW. He also played for the Wilmington Sharks. Some sports programs at UNCW may be shutting down in the near future if UNCW chancellor Gary Miller follows the recommendations of a UNCW committee. On Wednesday one local high school soccer team lost in the state playoffs. One won. We were there for both. Full story...
