UPDATE: Cafeteria used by Brunswick County Meals on Wheels back on track

The cafeteria that provides the food for the Brunswick County Meals on Wheels program is back on track. As of today, the Aramark operated kitchen scored 97, high enough to be used by the program.

ONLY ON 3: Low kitchen score puts brakes on Meals on Wheels

video A low food inspection score left Brunswick County Senior Resources scrambling to find Meals on Wheels today. Thursday, the Aramark-operated cafeteria in the Brunswick County Government Center got a 85.5 B score from the Health Department. That score is too low to serve the food handled in the facility.

Leaders deliver Meals on Wheels, check smoke detectors

It's Fire Prevention Week and to start it off, the Wilmington Fire Department and New Hanover County Fire Rescue are targeting senior citizens in their effort to provide safety information. Firefighters are delivering Meals on Wheels all week, talking to senior residents about fire safety and checking their smoke detectors.

Man sentenced to death for killing Meals on Wheels volunteer

A North Carolina jury has sentenced a man to death for killing a 77-year-old Meals on Wheels volunteer and to life without parole for beating one of her clients to death.

video It was a story many of us could not believe. Last week a New Hanover County Meals on Wheels driver robbed in broad daylight while making a delivery. It's a program full of hard-working people, who need more help.
