Navassa's Police Chief was suspended without pay Tuesday. He was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend in his patrol car. Troopers say Chief Ricky Thorpe's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. Some Navassa Residents are stunned and question their safety. Full story...

A bill in the State Senate would tighten rules on new landfills. State senators are scrambling to approve a final version of bill 1492 before a landfill moratorium expires August 1. The moratorium has prevented new landfills from being built in the past year. The bill has been delayed because lawmakers cannot come to an agreement on exactly what to include in it. Full story...
