Members of the New Hanover County Commission and Wilmington City Council signed a joint letter to Gov. Pat McCrory, House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger yesterday asking them to call for a special legislative session to "reconsider film incentives that will better serve North Carolina in remaining marketable and competitive" in the film industry. A 160-million-dollar bond referendum takes the next step towards the November ballot in New Hanover County. A capital needs study shows New Hanover County Schools are overcrowded and need renovations. This bond would fund those projects, but not all of the commissioners want it to get passed. Full story...
