A Brunswick Count jury has found New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger not guilty of violating a protective order. Berger had appealed an earlier ruling that he had violated the order back in November.

New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger has been laying low. Other than appealing his violation of a protective order, Berger has been out of the news, until he sent an email to fellow commissioners around 2:40 a.m. The email expressed Berger's disapproval of the board sending a letter of support for a head start grant.
