A New Hanover County Firefighter was injured Monday after a fire spread through several homes in the Crestwood Estates neighborhood of New Hanover County. The fire on Point Harbor Road, just across the Isabel Holmes Bridge has been contained. New Hanover County and Wilmington Fire Departments responded to the fire. According to New Hanover County spokesman Charles Smith, the cause of the fire was electrical. Full story...

An abandoned house caught fire Friday afternoon on Fontana Road near Tahoe Road and Ashley High School. According to Ray Griswald of the New Hanover County Fire Department, crews are still investigating the cause of the fire. Firefighters were still putting out hot spots underneath the floor of the house late this afternoon. No one was injured. Full story...
