Commissioners and board members discussed what it will take to fix aging schools, including the possibility of hundreds of millions of dollars in bond money.

Mold test results in for mobile units at Bellamy and Parsley

Earlier this week, several fifth grade Bellamy classes were relocated to Parsley due to mold contamination in fifth grade mobile units. New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) ordered further mold testing to be conducted after the relocation.

Unpaid lunch costs latest hit on school budgets

videoUnpaid school lunch charges have been on rise for years in New Hanover County, but now schools can no longer use federal funds to pay off those meals. Last year alone unpaid lunches cost the district about $122,000.
