Deputies find drugs, guns in apartment near UNCW

videoThe New Hanover County Sheriff's Office says a two-week investigation led them to raid the apartment of an alleged drug dealer near UNCW Wednesday afternoon. Investigators say they found several guns, heroin and marijuana in Kenneth Jermain Greene's home at Seahawk Square Apartments.

video The District Attorney says a shooting that killed the suspect accused of shooting a New Hanover County Sheriff's deputy last month was a reasonable use of deadly force. District Attorney Ben David said the officers were "absolutely justified in taking Brandon Smith's life."

Driver charged in car chase with cops after checkpoint

video A man who led multiple law enforcement agencies on a car chase during a DWI checkpoint early this morning faces several assault charges after investigators say he intentionally hit a deputy's car twice. They say it started at a roadblock set up at the corner of 15th and Market streets around 1:30 a.m.

Two suspects dead, one jailed after restaurant robbery leads to police shooting
