A New Hanover County teacher arrested earlier this year for drug possession has been indicted. District Attorney Ben David confirms a grand jury indicted Catherine Entrocaso for possession of a schedule II narcotic. Full story...

The high school football season is here. Despite the rain the BB&T Jamboree was played as scheduled at Legion Stadium in Wilmington on Friday night. Check out the first 5th Quarter of 2013. In baseball Wilmington Post 10 won their opening game at the American Legion World Series. Post 10 will face Louisiana on Saturday in a winner's bracket contest. Full story...

On Tuesday WWAY's John Rendleman and Trot Nixon both attended the luncheon for the upcoming BB&T Jamboree. It's not just a scrimmage. It's the unofficial start to the high school football season. Keith Rendleman didn't hear his name called at last months's NBA Draft, but UNCW's all-time leading rebounder did hear his name called on Wednesday at the Korean Basketball League Draft. A former New Hanover Wildcat will have to sit out the upcoming football season at East Carolina. The Wilmington Sharks played more than nine innings on Wednesday. Plus more! Full story...

High School students throughout New Hanover County dressed in caps and gowns for graduation this weekend at UNCW's Trask Coliseum. Graduates from Ashley, Hoggard, New Hanover, and Laney High Schools say they are excited for the next step in their leaves. Full story...

In 1950 Tanky Meier started coaching the New Hanover High boys tennis team. Meier was a volunteer coach from 1950 to 2011. The 90 year old died on Monday after a short illness. On our sports at 11pm we paid tribute to the first New Hanover grad to have a sports facility named after him. On Tuesday the Wilmington Sharks opened the 2013 season with a road win. Plus more!
