videoOn Wednesday on WWAY we showcased the Mideastern Conference Swim Championships at the Seahawk Natatorium on the UNCW campus. Hoggard claimed the girls title for the 14th year in a row. New Hanover lost on the road in boys basketball. UNCW lost in Atlanta against Georgia State. #1 Duke lost by 17 points, while the Tar Heels held off Georgia Tech. Full story...

Ashley's T.J. Williams ended up with that honor after he slammed home a dunk at the buzzer to give Ashley a one point win over New Hanover. videoOn Friday night WWAY provided extensive coverage from the Laney Sports Hall of Fame ceremony. The hall grew by seven. Friday was also a special night at New Hanover High School. The 2012 state champion Wildcat basketball team was honored prior to the New Hanover-New Bern game. Friday also featured a game in Leland that was marred by fan misconduct.
