New Hanover County Regional Medical Center may soon have a change in management. Hospital officials held a town hall meeting tonight to discuss implications of a proposed agreement with Carolinas Healthcare Systems to take over day-to-day operations.

Mission Ready is a program that collects expired medical and surgical supplies that cannot be used in the US due to strict guidelines. Doctors say the materials and supplies are still fine to use, especially in places like Haiti, which is still recovering from January's devastating earthquake.

The Optimist of the Port City Club donated 100 handmade dolls to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Doctors and nurses at the Betty H. Cameron Women's & Children's Hospital will use the dolls to support play therapy. It's also a way to show sick children procedures they'll be going through.
