The UNCW men's golf team captured the CAA men's golf title on Sunday at St. James Plantation in Brunswick County. The Seahawks won by 24 strokes over James Madison. UNCW's Payne McLeod won the individual title. The UNCW baseball team dropped two games over the weekend. Wilmington's Casey Barth and Nick Becton both signed NFL contracts. The UNC Tar Heel offensive guard was selected with the seventh overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals. Carolina Panthers' owner Jerry Richardson is asking state lawmakers to help finance a stadium upgrade. Richardson told lawmakers in Raleigh on Wednesday that he would like $62 million in state aid along with state approval for $144 million in higher local taxes. Full story...
