Wilmington resident Connor Barth had job security in Tampa Bay until he tore his Achilles tendon in a charity basketball game in 2013. Barth missed the entire 2013 NFL season. On Friday the Buccaneers cut Barth, just nine days before Tampa Bay's first regular season game of 2014. Full story...

Former Hoggard Viking offensive lineman Jonathan Cooper missed his entire rookie season with the Arizona Cardinals after breaking his leg in a preseason game last August. It doesn't look like Jordan Hamilton will suit up for the Wilmington Hammerheads anymore. He's no longer on loan from Toronto FC. He's now a member of Toronto FC.
