On Thursday Hoggard football coaches hosted a NFL Draft get together for former Hoggard Vikings football standout Jonathan Cooper. The UNC Tar Heel offensive guard was selected with the seventh overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals. Wilmington's Jonathan Cooper is now an Arizona Cardinal. The NFC West team selected the former Hoggard football standout with the 7th pick in the first round of Thursday's NFL Draft. Cooper recently completed a stellar career in Chapel Hill with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Full story...

Carolina Panthers' owner Jerry Richardson is asking state lawmakers to help finance a stadium upgrade. Richardson told lawmakers in Raleigh on Wednesday that he would like $62 million in state aid along with state approval for $144 million in higher local taxes. Full story...
