Panthers DE Hardy has bond set at $17,000

A Charlotte Mecklenburg County judge has set bond for Greg Hardy at $17,000 one day after the Carolina Panthers' Pro Bowl defensive end was arrested on charges of assault on a female and communicating threats.

Barth medically cleared for Tampa Bay

videoConnor Barth missed the entire NFL 2013 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon while playing in a charity basketball game in Wilmington. Barth’s injury was the first in a series of unfortunate events for Tampa Bay kickers last season. The former Hoggard kicker has now been medically cleared to play.

Jermaine Jones is a speedy wide receiver out of St. Augustine's in Raleigh. In fact Jones is one of the fastest guys you'll ever see on a football field. He hopes his speed will catch the attention of NFL scouts.

Jay Ross to be named head coach of Wilmington Tigers

videoIt appears the NFL career for Wilmington's Jay Ross has been put on hold. The New Hanover High alum will return to the football sideline this summer as the head coach of the Wilmington Tigers semi-pro football team. A news conference will be held on Friday to formally introduce Ross as the new head coach of the Tigers.
