Economists say local economy will grow moderately over next several years

Total personal income in the Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is forecast to grow 3.3 percent during 2011, with the growth rate slowing to around three percent in both 2012 and 2013. Sen. Thom Goolsby says his plan to rename US 17 will not spend unnecessary money. Today Goolsby clarified his bill, which calls for $100,000 in DOT money to pay for new signs.
