A Pender County family is searching for answers after the death of a brother and sister. Annie and Warren Gore were found dead in their homes in Willard Saturday after complaining about flu-like symptoms. Relatives say they might know where the disease came from.

What started as a stolen vehicle investigation, led to a chase that began in Pender County and ended in New Hanover County Thursday night. Once the suspect took off on foot, the SABLE helicopter was called out to help with the search.

A family controversy leads to a breaking and entering and a murder. It happened in the northern part of Hampstead early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Brighton Road in the Summit Ridge neighborhood. The Pender County Sheriff's Office says when deputies arrived at the home of Michael Grant the 34-year-old fired a gun at the deputies.
