Photographer offers holiday photos for familes of special needs kids

A local photographer is teaming up with New Hanover Regional Medical Center this weekend to make the holidays special for some special children and their families. Jessica Wright-Moore will take holiday photos for families with special needs children tomorrow as part of an effort to bring those families together.

New Hanover Public Library will display “Freedom, Sacrifice, Memory” Civil War photo exhibit in October

The involvement of Confederate soldiers, African Americans and women is depicted in the Freedom, Sacrifice, Memory: Civil War Sesquicentennial Photography Exhibit, which will visit the New Hanover Public Library Oct. 1-29. The exhibit will educate and illustrate on a difficult period in history that the nation moved beyond.
