NBC Universal has apologized to members of Congress for taking the words "under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance during the recent U.S. Open. Reps. Randy Forbes, R-Va., and Mike McIntyre, D-N.C. -- who lead the Congressional Prayer Caucus -- joined 106 other members of Congress in expressing their frustration to NBC leaders. Full story...

video In 1954, the words "under God" were added to the Pledge of Allegiance. With Fourth of July just around the corner, some groups are using billboards across the state, including one here in New Hanover County, to help get those two words removed from the pledge for good. Full story...
