A Southport Police detective turned himself in to deputies Tuesday night and then quickly bonded out, according to the Brunswick County Jail. Monday night, a grand jury indicted Det. A Boiling Spring Lakes father says his son was murdered by police this afternoon. Mark Wilsey says he called police when his 18-year-old, 90 lb. son had a screwdriver that he would not let go. Southport's police chief is speaking out after one of his employees was arrested over the weekend. Last week the Brunswick County Sheriffs Office received a complaint about Anthony Buntyn, a clerk for the Southport Police Department. Saturday deputies arrested Buntyn and charged him with disseminating obscenity and impersonating a police officer. Full story...
