Over a hundred residents of New Hanover County gathered today to rally in opposition to Titan. The cement company took a significant step towards coming to Castle Hayne earlier this week when they were issued an air quality permit by the DAQ. The N.C. Division of Air Quality issued a draft air permit to Titan last month. Now they’re looking to the public to help them decide whether to alter it or deny Titan the permit altogether. Three public hearings will be held this week to discuss the permit, which would regulate how much pollutants Titan will be allowed to emit. Full story...
