videoThe Titan Cement plant has been billed as a jobs creator for the Cape Fear region, but to this point no concrete studies had been performed to back that statement up. That is until the Cape Fear Economic Development Council stepped in and commissioned a study.

International Surfing Day celebrates oceans, beaches

video Following mediation, a claim of slander against two Stop Titan participants has been resolved. With the lawsuit against Kayne Darrell and Dr. David Hill out of the way, the Stop Titan group held what they called solidarity social.

Titan America LLC has resolved a slander suit it filed against two local residents. The cement company had accused Dr. David Hill and Kayne Darrell of making false statements about the company.

Group rallies in opposition to Titan, air permit

videoOver a hundred residents of New Hanover County gathered today to rally in opposition to Titan. The cement company took a significant step towards coming to Castle Hayne earlier this week when they were issued an air quality permit by the DAQ. Protestors say they are not happy with the permit and plan to end the momentum that Titan is building.

Mothers United holds kickoff event

Public hearings to be held this week on Titan's draft air permit

video The N.C. Division of Air Quality issued a draft air permit to Titan last month. Now they’re looking to the public to help them decide whether to alter it or deny Titan the permit altogether. Three public hearings will be held this week to discuss the permit, which would regulate how much pollutants Titan will be allowed to emit.
