On Tuesday on WWAY we featured five different basketball games at five different venues. We checked out action in Rocky Point between the undefeated East Bladen girls vs. Trask. We checked out the undefeated West Brunswick boys against Topsail. We also featured New Hanover-Laney, Harrells-Coastal Christian along with a wilder than wild finish in the Ashley-Hoggard boys basketball game. Full story...

It was colorful. It was different. On Friday's Full Court Press the entire West Brunswick boys basketball team joined us live in the WWAY studio. The Trojans are now 18-0 on the season. They accepted our invitation for their special live appearance, but the invite hinged on West Brunswick beating Laney on Friday night in Buctown. We also featured victories from Hoggard, Ashley, Whiteville and Northside along with boys and girls action from Harrells-Cape Fear Academy. Full story...

We had our cameras out and about on Wednesday night. The Laney boys overcame a second half deficit to beat Topsail. The West Bladen boys held off East Bladen in backyard rivalry contest. The East Bladen girls continued their undefeated season by holding West Bladen to a mere 5 points. Check out our game action from each of these. Full story...

Union High School served as the host location for the MLK Basketball Jamfest on Monday. This is a boys high school event only that featured seven games with several local teams participating. Full story...

Friday is Full Court Press night at WWAY. Once again we showcased a slew of games from around the region. This includes a nail biter at Ashley where the Screaming Eagles gave undefeated West Brunswick a run for their money. The Cape Fear Academy Basketball Challenge tipped off Wednesday. It's a three day event that will wrap up on Saturday. Wednesday's action included one of the best dunks of the season. Full story...

Friday's Full Court Press on WWAY featured a basketball doubleheader at Brogden Hall between New Hanover and Ashley. It turned out to be a Wildcat type of night with New Hanover winning both the boys and the girls game. We unveiled the "Full Court Press Watch List" for the first time this season. The North Brunswick boys did not put up much resistance to Hoggard on Tuesday night. Dunks from Xavier Johnson energized the crowd and the Vikings rolled to an easy win. We had our sports cameras in Shallotte too. West Brunswick remains undefeated. Laney lost in overtime against Scotland County. We were there for that one as well.
