Two local soccer squads both lost in overtime in the state playoffs on Tuesday night. The Topsail baseball team managed to avoid defeat though. Topsail is now just one victory away from being in the state championship series next week. Full story...

The baseball season ended on Friday night for UNCW. Only two teams remain alive in the quest for a CAA Baseball Championship: William & Mary and the College of Charleston. The Wilmington Hammerheads erupted with five goals on Friday night at Legion Stadium. In the state playoffs Topsail and Whiteville both advance in the baseball state playoffs on Friday. In a dramatic finish the UNCW baseball team won on Wednesday on the first day of the CAA Baseball Championship at Brooks Field. The Whiteville girls soccer team didn't have a dramatic outcome, but the Wolfpack players still managed to win. Plus more! Full story...

Topsail High School's electric vehicle class has won nearly 200 awards since 2001. Last month, students in the course were named national champions for the 11th year in a row. Full story...

West Columbus nipped South Columbus in baseball on Friday in extra innings. We were in Cerro Gordo for the dramatic finish. We also showcased an 18 strikeout effort by Topsail's Clark Cota against Hogggard. South Columbus appears to have "their man" for its vacant football job.
