Wilmington's Jermaine Jones helps lead St. Aug to a national track & field title... again

Saint Augustine's University captured its second consecutive men's outdoor national crown at the 2014 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday in Michigan. Former New Hanover Wildcat Jermaine Jones played a huge role in the national title for the Falcons.

Weekend sports update: Hammerheads win, state track title for North Brunswick + more

North Brunswick's boys track & field team won the 2-A state title over the weekend. The Wilmington Hammerheads won their second game of the season. Former New Hanover football standout Jermaine Jones is headed to New York for a tryout with the Jets + news and results involving UNCW sports.

Jermaine Jones gets chance to shine in front of NFL scouts at NC State

videoCarter-Finley Stadium was the place to be on Monday if you wanted to see one of the best three-sport athletes to come out of New Hanover High School in recent memory. Jermaine Jones is a speedy wide receiver out of St. Augustine's in Raleigh. In fact Jones is one of the fastest guys you'll ever see on a football field. He hopes his speed will catch the attention of NFL scouts.

UNCW dropping men's indoor track & field, but not really?

videoLess than a year after UNCW Chancellor Gary Miller announced the school would not cut any of its athletics programs, the university has announced it will cut one team for next year. But in the end, it looks as if very little is changing.

Scorpions win 1-A/2-A indoor track state title

The North Brunswick High boys indoor track team won the 1-A/2-A state title on Saturday. Two Scorpion athletes won individual titles. South Brunswick's Colin Minor won an individual state title on Friday in the 3-A shot put competition.

The UNCW men's basketball team drops to 0-2 in the CAA after an overtime loss on the road against Northeastern. UNC is off to an 0-2 start in the ACC after a loss on Wednesday to Miami. Plus more!

videoWilmington's Cari Blalock finished in 4th place at the US Open Swimming Championships on Thursday. This was the first day of official high school football practice all across the state. The Wilmington Sharks clinched a playoff spot of Thursday.
