videoUS 17 is back open after an overturned dump truck closed northbound lanes near Winnabow this afternoon. Troopers say the wet road conditions caused the driver to lose control spilling garbage into the median.

videoConstruction to replace a 62-year-old Brunswick County bridge in bad shape begins today. That means road closures that some people say are quite an inconvenience. The project to replace the bridge between Bolivia and Oak Island closes Midway Road between Gilbert and Lewis Loop roads until late May leaves some nearby businesses wondering how they will survive.

Southport woman killed in Florida car crash

videoInvestigators are trying to figure out what caused a deadly crash that shut down traffic on Interstate 4 in DeLand,FL, for hours on Tuesday. Troopers said Mary Bullington, 61, of Southport, was driving erratically along I-4 in DeLand when she ran off the road and slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder.

UPDATE: Driver charged with death by motor vehicle, DWI in deadly crash

A man who was driving during a crash that killed his passenger and hurt several others last night now faces charges for his death, among others. They say the front-seat passenger in the Jeep, John A. Jackson Jr., 53, of Wilmington, was killed as a result of his injuries from the crash.
