FIRST ON 3: Toxicology report reveals UNCW teen died from lethal drug combination

According to the report, 18 year-old Bryce Scott died from a combination of medications. Opana, which is similar to Oxycodone, was found along with Valium in Scott’s body.

WWAY's Friday night sports - May 11

video Friday marked the first night of the state playoffs for high school baseball and softball. We had our sports cameras out and about. We also had soccer state playoff action. UNCW cliched the CAA regular season baseball title on Friday. It's the first regular season title for Mark Scalf's squad since 2008. The Wilmington Sea Dawgs also won on Friday! CAA may be forced to prepare for new look

Academic sanctions and potential defections could give the Colonial Athletic Association a drastically different look. UNC Wilmington is not on the list for leaving the conference, but the UNCW men's basketball team is on the list for academic sanctions.

UNCW captures second straight CAA women's golf crown - tennis falls short & baseball sweeps

Cindy Ho's UNCW women's golf team captured first place in the CAA women's golf championship on Sunday. It's the second title in as many years for the Seahawks. Both Seahawk tennis teams came close, but they both fell short in winning a CAA tennis title. The UNCW baseball team is still a few weeks away from tournament play. After a sweep this weekend the Seahawks have a firm grip on first place.

'I had an abortion' shirts spark controversy at UNCW

video UNCW students held a silent protest this afternoon against the sale of some controversial t-shirts. The UNCW Women's Studies Department and the university's LGBTQIA Resource Office held a panel today selling shirts for $15 that read "I had an abortion."
