A 90-year-old veteran finally has back his service medals earned in World War II.
Rep. Mike McIntyre worked with the national personnel records center and to replace the lost medals for Leroy Pierson of Bladen County.

As we told you yesterday, some workers at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point in Brunswick County are worried about their jobs. The disabled veterans, who serve as security guards, say they'll be let go because they won't be able to pass newly enforced physical agility tests.

A third grader and his friends gave more than $600 to help wounded veterans today.
Jake Sullivan organized a walk-a-thon for the Semper Fi Fund, which helps injured and ill Marines. The nine-year-old and three of his friends walked a track around the playground to raise the money.
