videoFirst place was on the line in softball at the Ashley/Laney game and Trask/West Bladen. We checked out both of those on our 11pm sports. In college baseball Trevor Kelley pitched three innings on Tuesday for North Carolina against East Carolina. We showcased that too. Plus more!

WWAY's Wednesday night sports - April 9; Ashley baseball & softball takes flight

videoThe Screaming Eagles are looking fantastic this season in both baseball and softball. We checked out action on Wednesday from Ashley involving Topsail and Ashley High. In college baseball UNCW and East Carolina both won. In fact the Pirates picked up a non-conference victory against NC State.

The losing skid for the UNCW women's basketball continues. North Carolina came from behind to beat Duke in men's college hoops. WWAY's Monday night sports - February 17

videoMonday marked the first day of tournament play in the Mideastern Conference for high school basketball. We had game highlights from all three first round games. We also made a stop in Bladen County to check out the showdown between East Bladen and West Bladen. UNCW ran into a hot shooting William & Mary squad on Monday night. This included Ashley's sweep of Hoggard, Whiteville's win over West Columbus in boys basketball and West Bladen's victory over Pender. In football news Ashley head coach Tom Eanes has been named an assistant coach for the Shrine Bowl in December. Plus more!

Check out our game action. In high school hoops the East Bladen girls remained undefeated with a come from behind win over West Bladen. We had highlights from the East Bladen boys game too.
