They accepted our invitation for their special live appearance, but the invite hinged on West Brunswick beating Laney on Friday night in Buctown. Opening night of league play in the Mideastern Conference

videoWe had our sports cameras out and about on Tuesday night. The Hoggard boys basketball team used a handful of slam dunks to their advantage in the league opener against Topsail. The West Brunswick boys team held off a pesky Laney squad. The game was tied late in regulation until Ty Hill nailed a shot from behind the arc to lead the Trojans to a 69-66 victory.
