The plans for how to use so-called white spaces were unveiled today. They're gaps in the broadcasting spectrum left over from old analog TV. These gaps can be used for pretty much anything, and we're the guinea pigs

So far the city has hinted that security cameras in parks and other public places might be part of the plan, which has some people a bit nervous.

WiFi access throughout the city, intelligent traffic systems, water systems, power systems are all possible with this white space technology. Wilmington is going to be the first test market in the country.
