WWAY's Wednesday night sports - June 13

video It's do or die time for the Wilmington Sea Dawgs basketball team. The Dawgs begin post-season play on Thursday night on the road in Cary. A win will move the Dawgs into the TRBL championship game on Saturday. We caught up with team members on Wednesday. Click play video to see our report. On Wednesday we also stopped by the Shark Tank for summer league baseball action.

WWAY's Tuesday night sports - June 12

video On Tuesday night the Wilmington Sharks improved to 8-5 on the season with a road win over the Morehead City Marlins. We also showcased the Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament on Tuesday. Plus, game one of the NBA Finals is complete. The Thunder beat the Heat 105-94.

video On Friday night's sports we showcased the Wilmington Hammerheads road game against Rochester. We had a Sharks update, a Sea Dawgs update, a George Bryan sighting in Dallas and a preview of Saturday's roller derby bout in Carolina Beach.

WWAY's Friday night sports - May 25; Whiteville wins 2A East & UNCW moves into CAA title game

video Whiteville High School earned a spot in next week's 2A baseball state championship best of three series. The Wolfpack won the eastern title on Friday night on the road against Northwood High School. The UNCW baseball team also won on Friday. The Seahawks edged Delaware 3-2 to advance to the CAA Baseball Championship on Saturday.

WWAY's Friday night sports - May 18

video Friday night’s sports segment featured high school baseball state playoff action from West Brunswick. We also checked out the North Brunswick baseball team against North Pitt. We traveled to Ashley to watch the softball team defeat West Johnston 4-2 for the district title. The Hoggard girls soccer team was also in action tonight as they hosted Pinecrest.

WWAY Presents Cancer Awareness Night with Sea Dawgs

WWAY presents Cancer Awareness Night with the Sea Dawgs. The Wilmington Sea Dawgs will be hosting Fayetteville at the Schwartz Center on Friday, May 18th. WWAY's Cacky Catlett will emcee the WWAY TV 3 Free Throw Shoot Out Contest.

video WWAY’s Friday night sports segment featured the Wilmington Sea Dawgs semi-pro basketball team at home against Big Texas. We also went to Brooks Field to check out UNCW against Hofstra in a battle of the top two teams in the CAA. We even featured high school baseball action between Laney and New Hanover, as well as Wilmington Christian.

video On Friday we featured the Wilmington Seadawgs. They beat the Carolina Gladiators at the Schwartz Center to remain undefeated. We also previewed Saturday's SE Elite 24 Basketball Classic and much more.

video The Friday night sports segment featured UNC Wilmington baseball against Old Dominion at Brooks Field. The Seahawks beat the Monarchs 10-4. We also traveled to Hampstead to check out the undefeated Topsail softball team against Swansboro. The Wilmington Sea Dawgs will open their season on Sunday at the Schwartz Center in downtown Wilmington.
