Wilmington Police Chief Ralph Evangelous doesn't want to jinx himself, but he's happy to report there have been no murders in Wilmington so far this year.
This time last year, there had already been eight murders and there was a total of 13 in 2008.

The Wilmington police officer killed in an on-duty car crash this week, will be laid to rest in his home state of Pennsylvania.
This weekend, Officer Richard Matthews will be honored here in Wilmington.

Downtown Wilmington will soon be under a close watch. The Wilmington Police Department plans to install at least 20 surveillance cameras throughout the downtown area.
