Taking a look at just the past 18 months, we found nearly 20 cases where officers were disciplined, arrested or even convicted.

Wrightsville Beach Police arrested the owner of the now closed Deluxe restaurant overnight. Scott Haulman is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, DWI, having an open bottle of alcohol in his car, driving on a revoked license and ... urinating in public, according to a police spokesperson.

Wrightsville Beach Police will soon be watching you a little closer. The town's Board of Aldermen approved about $4,000 to purchase eighteen personal body cameras for police officers.

Two Wrightsville Beach police officers have been demoted and another has quit. Town Manager Bob SSimpson made the announcement this morning following weeks of investigations into the officers, who the town initially fired.
