Investigators are still looking into a murder between two families in Elizabethtown. Police said 22-year-old Caleb Stoker shot and killed 41-year-old Ricky Carroll next to the boat ramp at Tory Hole Park nearly two weeks ago. WWAY has been told Carroll did not approve of Stoker dating his daughter, and wanted to settle things in person. Investigators are waiting on autopsy and lab results, before they file any charges.

shooting

I have read the autopsy report. The fact that Rickey was shot multiple times and none of these gunshot wounds had gunpowder residue, proves that none of these shots were point-blank, de-bunking the self-defense theory. The report also shows a gunshot wound to the back! This is called excessive force in the courts! It is apparent the "good 'ol boy network " is alive and well in Bladen county. How can a man shoot to death another and stay on the street and continue to carry a rifle or shotgun, while hunting with his buddies for weeks after this shooting? It is obvious Mr. Gore and his cronies have allowed Stoker to stay out of jail and celebrate Thanksgiving with his family while the Carrolls have had to suffer through this holiday wondering when "Justice" will be served. I will forward this to the Attorney General and suggest an investigation of the DA and the Magistrates office.

I hope and pray for

I hope and pray for indisputable evidence, no matter which side the good or bad falls. Evidence so indisputable that all the family, friends, community cannot rumor and speculate in longer.

Irresponsible journalism

It is irresponsible and unprofessional of WWAY to label this incident as a murder considering that the SBI and local law enforcement agencies are still trying to decide if it was self defense or not. Either the WWAY staff needs to spend a little time with Mr. Webster or they are sensationalizing the story. I guess it's better to be uneducated than irresponsible, but neither is an attribute that should belong to a news organization.

HOW DO YOU CALL SHOOTING

HOW DO YOU CALL SHOOTING SOMEONE FIVE TIMES NOT A MURDER????

yes that is true the sbi has

yes that is true the sbi has to rule it a murder before it is a murder because it may be ruled as self defense

wrong

a bit touchy aren't you, it was murder a steel pipe and gun do not amount to self defense, why did he carry a gun to the meeting, huh, duh, someone was killed and he got treated and released, yeah right, self defense, he may have pulled the gun out and Ricky tried to knot it out of his hands before he was MURDERED>
