Noble Middle School implements revised dress code for students

Noble Middle School will implement a revised dress code for students when they return to school on August 25, 2010. In conjunction with New Hanover County Schools Board Policy 8520, Noble’s dress attire will be as follows:

* White, navy, or maroon polo type shirts or
* Noble T-shirt or Noble sweatshirt
* Khaki or denim pants, shorts, or skirts. Shorts and skirts must be knee length or longer. Pants, shorts, and skirts may not have holes and must be worn at the waist.

To assist families with affordability concerns, the school social worker will work with families to locate resources both within the school as well as in the community. Additionally, the school will offer shirts in their school store.

“Noble is implementing a uniform policy to ensure we have a positive learning environment that is free from distractions. It is our hope that parents will find this policy helpful by simplifying the clothing choices for them and their children. Finally, it is our hope that this requirement will allow for more consistent enforcement at the school level,” said Principal Wade Smith.

This is so pathetic and unnecessary. I think they need to get themselves in checkk. We are kids, this isnt millitary school!

im going 2 noble and i hate the new dress code):

It's up to parents, not students, to determine what kids can and can't wear. Polo shirts? We have to press white culture on all kids now, too?
