For the first time in more than a month health inspectors found a couple of low performers in this week's Kitchen Cops report. Back in july China Wok on Oleander Drive in Wilmington scored a perfect 102. This week it has our lowest score. The inspector said during the inspection, the owner walked in and rinsed his hands in the utensil sink without using soap or a paper towel before picking up cooked lo mein. Foods were stored the wrong way. Chicken, pork and lo mein were cooling at room temperature and shrimp was thawing on a drain board. 13 Violations in all and a score of 80 for China Wok.
And down to Calabash and Nesbitt's Jackass Saloon and Eatery. The inspector said the restaurant still has a problem with mice, including dropping in cabinets. Milk was past its expiration date. And several things needed cleaning or fixing. 86.5 for Nesbitt's.
Two high performers in this week's Kitchen Cops report. The top score belongs to the Hilton Riverside in Downtown Wilmington. A half point off because plate lids need to be stacked to air dry. Add back two points for workers passing a food safety course for a score of 101.5.
And a perfect 100 goes to Pita Delight at 5916 Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington.
