The Democratic presidential campaign was in the Tar Heel state yesterday.

Barack Obama spoke to thousands of supporters who filled a high school football stadium in Asheville.

He blamed Republican rival John McCain and President Bush for "disastrous" economic policies. Obama hit McCain on Sunday on the economy and health care, trying to gain an advantage as the campaign enters its final month.

McCain has increased his presence in North Carolina, which has not gone to the Democrats in 32 years.
