READ MORE:
NEW HANOVER COUNTY -- A former law enforcement officer and Wrightsville Beach town alderman pleaded guilty to a bribery charge Thursday. Trey Jordan will spend the next three years under supervised probation. In 2002, when Jordan was a town alderman, he solicited a Wrightsville Beach resident for money in exchange for his help on a drainage pipe issue. Jordan, an ex-New Hanover County deputy, is banned from becoming a law enforcement officer again and he has to pay a $2,500 fine.
