Pender County meeting tonight focuses on new Topsail High

The state of the new Topsail High School is on the agenda for tonight's Pender County School Board meeting.

The new facility will help accommodate students in the county's overcrowded school system.

Topsail High School is scheduled to open in January of 2009, but it could open sooner. A spokesperson for Pender County schools said the board will have a better idea of an exact date after tonight's meeting.

The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. in the Public Assembly Room at 805 South Walker Street in Burgaw.
