More than 200 Marines returning from Iraq

CAMP LEJEUNE (AP) -- More than 200 Marines and sailors are coming home to Camp Lejeune tonight after a seven-month deployment to Iraq.

The Marines are members of Dam Support Unit III, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, and 2nd Intelligence Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

The deployment marked the unit's first deployment. The unit was comprised of reservists from 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion out of Frederick, Maryland, and their mission was to provide security at the Haditha Dam in Iraq.

This is the third consecutive deployment for the intelligence battalion, which deploys for seven months out of every 12, with many of their Marines on their third deployment in as many years. Their mission was to provide intelligence support throughout Al Anbar Province.
