Part of the challenge
is that too many do not understand how wealth redistribution works. In an effort to clear the air, here is a simplistic example:
"I am looking for someplace to eat lunch as I perform my job throughout the day.
I park my car and notice a homeless man at the parking lot entrance. He holds a sign which reads "Vote Obama, '08 I need the money"
I go inside the restaurant and notice my waiter is wearing an Obama '08 tee shirt.
I order lunch; he provides exceptional service.
When I go to pay my check, I tell the waiter I am going to redistribute his tip to someone who has a greater need.
He is sputtering and clearly unhappy. He watches me leave the restaurant. Before I enter my car, I walk over to the homeless man and give him $3.00.
He gets a puzzled look on his face; but then smiles.
In summary, I took the waiter's hard earned $3.00 tip and gave it to someone who doesn't work. I made the hard working individual unhappy when the impact of wealth redistribution hit him and took his money. I made the person who does not work happy by giving him money he did not earn."

Natural Born Citizen
I'm kind of fuzzy on all my political science classes from college, but I don't beleive the constitution defines a natural born citizen. I think it has been interpreted over the years as being a citizen at birth and therefore not having to go through the "naturalization" process that immigrants go through. I don't think it has to do with the place of birth. So even if Obama or McCain were born in China, the fact that one or both of their parents were US citizens, they were automatically "natural born" citizens at birth.
McCain's parents were both US citizens. Obama's mother was a US citizen. Unless there is a Supreme Court ruling I have forgotten about or am unaware of (possible - since I've been out of college a loooong time), both are natural born cizitens.

the constitution does spell out some pretty specific items anyone taking the oath of office, for President, must meet. They deal with age, length of residence in country prior to taking office, and being the off-spring of natural citizens not naturalized.
Having said that, one must remember the President takes an oath of office. Part of that oath is to uphold and defend the constitution. That portion of the oath is included in the oath sworn to by anyone entering military service.

For that matter, where are the hospital records which could clear this issue up?

If they did that, it would have been necessary for him to return as a Naturalized Citizen. Naturalized citizens, such as the Governor of California and Henry Kissinger, are not eligible to be President. He never did that; and thus if they did renounce his US citizenship all those years ago in Indonesia, he's no longer a natural born citizen, if in fact he ever was one.
It would have been necessary for him to take an oath of allegiance and a number of other things in order to become Naturalized.

I know a lot of people that do not have an original birth cert. issued the day of birth. They get lost. That is why you contact the state and county where you were born and get a certified COPY of it.

I don't have it out for Obama, but I think it is appropriate to ask these questions about his legal status as a citizen. People are bringing up valid points about his citizenship status while living and attending school in Indonesia, and the status of his mother's citizenship (my understanding is that her young age at the time of his birth complicates this issue). If it is on record that his grandmother has claimed that she witnessed his birth in Indonesia, that should also be investigated.
Furthermore, 1). I DO know the name, city and state of the hospitals where my siblings and myself were born. 2). Official Birth Certificates are not issued on the day of birth by the hospital. You must apply for one. A birth record is given to the mother when she leaves the hospital. However you can get a birth record from the state without necessarily having to prove where the child was born (i.e. in the case of a home birth). 3). If Obama claims he was born in a Hawaiian hospital, it is most likely that there would be medical records of that birth - doctors orders, vaccination records, hospital bills, etc. It should be easy to find out if the hospital kept records from that far back.

So we placed no requirements on people whatsoever. They didn't have to go to school, they didn't have to work. They simply got to lie around Section 8 housing and pop out babies. Lets remember a couple of things (try not to get dizzy), this economic mess started during the Clinton years because credit was extended to mythological levels and the overly inflated tech stocks rightly adjusted themselves. Secondly, we have not had another major terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11. Yes, war sucks but there has been benefits. Saddam Hussein is dead, a vicious dictator who ran concentration camps and used posion gas on entire regions. While there is a resurgence of the Taliban, they are a shadow of what they were before we stepped in. Now, Bush has made mistakes, but he did have the interests of the USA at heart.
The idea that you would vote for an unknown, untested, and underqualifed loser like Obuma just because the media told you that Bush was bad is enough to make intellegent people tremble. We laugh at you behind your back and talk about you when we get together. Please try to understand that voting is important and that if you really don't have the brains to make a logical choice, then you should probably stay home on election day. Seriously, it is the best thing that you can do for your country. Stop watching mainstream media on TV. Research and read some unbiased material. Please try to become a person worthy of casting a ballot that will effect a whole lot more than you can imagine.

Ummmm, you understand being President ain't like being King or Emporer (which is the job I want). The US government is divided into 3 branches. Legislative, Judicial, and Executive. W is at the top of the Executive Branch. Dems control the Legislative Branch and the Judicial is SUPPOSED to be impartial. W didn't lead us down this road, but that's not to say he, along with alot of others, didn't read the signs.
If you bought or sold a house in the last 4 years at an inflated price, or hustled real estate trying to get rich quick, you're as much to blame as he is. In fact, you're a direct contributor. What goes up, must come down. I'm all about drive and success, but come on - look at how inflated the prices for Waterford and those places are. Stack 'em up and there's a huge piece of the puzzle.
Why do the Dems always tout "raising mimimum wage"? I haven't earned minimum wage since I was 16. I'm 41 now (and look mighty fine for my age) and I want NO part of making the minimum. If you back off and look at the forest instead of that one tree, you'd see that the Democrats want to enslave you by making you absolutely dependant on the government. I don't think the Republicans are pure as the driven snow either. Maybe we need to start our own party. "Constitutionalist Party" If it doesn't pertain to servicing and defending the US Constitution, it's not important.
Take a mental break - Imagine for a moment, 9/11 if Al Gore had been president. We'd have probably surrendered that day. I am proud of W when he was under pressure. Things got clouded as more handlers became involved and more time went by, but I thought he unified us like no one had done for 50 years. Even Al laid low for about a year afterwards 'cause he knew he didn't have the guts to deal with it. Why do you think he went all "green"? He'd already invented the internet and realized he was grateful he wasn't on the hot seat.

In comparing both candidates, you can hardly tell them apart. One is young, the other old, one black, one white, one is articulate, one is a veteran. There are things I like in both and there are things that frighten me to no end about both.
So. John McCain? Really? That's the very best we've got? The tie breaker for me was Gov. Palin. At least she's down to earth. Being easy on the eyes don't hurt either. If she's VP, I'll have to TiVo C-SPAN every day!!!!
Alot of Republicans are voting Osamba to send the GOP a message - as stupid as that may be. Trouble is, the GOP seems to be hearing "TURN LEFT". The intended message is "You've let us down".
