Centers for Disease Control recommend infant vaccines

According to the Centers for Disease Control, children need immunizations to protect against dangerous diseases.

So just which shots do your little ones need?

In the first two years of life the CDC recommends the following vaccines be given over five visits:

  • 4 doses of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis
  • the same amount for the HIB and pneumococcal vaccines
  • 3 doses of polio vaccine
  • 2 doses of hepatitis A
  • 3 doses of hepatitis B
  • 1 dose of measles, mumps, and rubella
  • 3 doses of rotavirus vaccine
  • 1 of varicella
  • plus an annual flu shot
